Although the hippie ideal was fading in the late 1960s, marketers kept it alive. The Greenwich Village of RFD Greenwich Village is filled with "countrified cosmopolitans" who, while they appear to be beyond work and money worries, belong to a Bohemian subculture (which never looked anything like this). This representation of Manhattan is a tweak on Mayor John V. Lindsay's early-sixties "Fun City." From the film's narration: "Village life is cosmopolitan, yet relaxed and...

Reel 50 (the last one). More fun (?) at Norm and Connie's house on the lake at Paso Robles. In this episode you get to witness the serious decline of enthusiasm for the annual Easter Egg hunt on the part of the older kids. It seems that five bucks (the amount inside the famous Golden Egg) just wasn't worth the effort, or thrill, of the hunt.

Life in the 50's with the Glasco Family. One of the fun things to do back in the 8mm days was to get the family together and watch your Home Movies. One of the un-fun things to do was watch someone else's.... Note: The white cap I am wearing was because of ringworm of the scalp. Back then they put white adhesive tape on my head and ripped all my hair out by the roots. And yes, it did hurt very, very much. This process was repeated several times. August 2015 -- Much to my surprise clips have now...

OK, I have to admit this this is a strange collection. In the late 1980's and early 1990's, I worked for Kmart behind the service desk and the store played specific pre-recorded cassettes issued by corporate. This was background music, or perhaps you could call it elevator music. Anyways, I saved these tapes from the trash during this period and this video shows you my extensive, odd collection. Until around 1992, the cassettes were rotated monthly. Then, they were replaced weekly. Finally...

Anita Bryant (famous Florida orange juice and anti-gay spokeswoman) narrates this film that tries to simplify its drug abuse message with an analogy of kids putting together a contraption out of Lego blocks. Although the metaphors often don't make sense, the visual impact of the film is stunning and could easily be quite popular with individuals consuming illicit drugs. Also, like most anti-drug films, this could be a tempting introduction to drugs for some youths yearning to escape their...
